Local Veterans’ Coffee Morning Today, I had the pleasure of attending a coffee morning for local veterans, retired Police Officers and Fire Officers, and their carers, held at the Marlene Reid Centre, Coalville.
The group meets on the second Monday of every month, from 10:00am to 12:00 noon. The aim of the coffee morning is to provide a safe and welcoming space for veterans and their carers to come together, talk, and offer mutual support.
Support and advisory organisations also attend, giving veterans the opportunity to speak with them in a totally informal and relaxed setting.
I had the pleasure of spending time speaking with Mr Meadows, a former Police Officer and Army veteran, who shared some fascinating experiences with me.
